Marriott International has announced the signing of an agreement for the upcoming Moxy Sydney Pitt Street, a property set to boost the city’s hospitality offerings starting from August 2025. After successfully launching the 301-room Moxy Sydney Airport, Marriott International is preparing to unveil this new destination for travelers seeking an energetic and fun hotel experience in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

The new Moxy Sydney Pitt Street, which expects to house 314 rooms, will offer guests convenient access to premier retail locations including Pitt Street Mall and Martin Place, as well as a selection of Sydney’s newest culinary hotspots. Among the hotel’s most anticipated features is Sydney’s highest outdoor rooftop bar on level 34, adding to the hotel’s allure.

Richard Crawford, Vice President of Hotel Development for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific at Marriott International expressed his excitement, stating, “Moxy is renowned around the world as a high-energy hotel experience that breaks the rules and makes travel fun. It’s a brand that absolutely belongs in the heart of Sydney, where the city’s iconic attractions and urban excitement make for a perfect base for our fun-hunters. We are absolutely thrilled to announce this latest signing in Sydney CBD.”

Navigating the competitive landscape of Sydney’s CBD for new hotel developments is no small feat. Allen Linz, CEO of Rebel Property Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone: “There is no place more challenging in Australia to secure new hotel footholds than Sydney CBD, so today’s signing is remarkable.” He also shared his enthusiasm about the partnership with Marriott International, “The project reflects the capability and tenacity of the hotel development consortium… We are thrilled to be working with the Marriott team to deliver what will be an iconic Sydney hotel.”

Moxy Sydney Pitt Street aims to distinguish itself with a variety of amenities, including a restaurant and bar, a fitness center, meeting rooms, and a grab-and-go concept. With retail tenancies and its flagship rooftop bar, the hotel encapsulates Moxy’s dedication to creating vibrant communal spaces and interactive experiences. The brand’s philosophy is to provide a sociable service combined with industrial design, all at an affordable price point, allowing guests to prioritize unforgettable experiences.

Marriott International currently has a rich portfolio of hotels in Sydney, offering a range of experiences through brands such as Sheraton, Autograph Collection, W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Four Points by Sheraton and Courtyard by Marriott. Sean Hunt, Area Vice President for Australia, New Zealand & Pacific at Marriott International, highlighted the importance of brand variety in the company’s growth strategy: “The differentiation in brands is crucial to prudent and sustainable expansion in the market because we are consequently able to reach more people and particularly provide great choice to our 190 million loyal Marriott Bonvoy members globally.”

With Sydney preparing for the grand opening of Moxy Sydney Pitt Street, it eagerly awaits the new chapter of dynamic, playful, and stylish stays in the city’s vibrant center.
