Pop sensation and business mogul Rihanna is making headlines once more, not for her music this time, but for a significant move in the real estate market. The Barbadian singer has placed her luxurious Los Angeles penthouse, previously owned by the late “Friends” star Matthew Perry, up for sale with an asking price of $24.95 million.
Rihanna, who has also achieved billionaire status, acquired the property less than a year ago. According to records from PropertyShark, she bought the penthouse on the 40th floor of the prestigious 42-story Century building in Century City. She made the purchase through a trust for $21 million at the end of March 2023.
The penthouse spans 9,290 square feet and is described as the “pinnacle of luxury living” in the listing by James Harris and David Parnes of Carolwood Estates. The real estate firm, which listed the property, has opted not to comment on the sale.
This “big-ticket home” features walls of windows offering expansive views of the city skyline and the Pacific Ocean. Additional highlights include a great room with high ceilings, a library accompanied by a fireplace, a private screening room, a chef’s kitchen, and a family room.
Additionally, the residence boasts four bedrooms. This includes a primary suite with a comfortable seating area, a fireplace, and a marble bathroom. It also includes an office and four sprawling terraces, cumulatively offering 1,900 square feet of outdoor space.
The “Diamonds” singer bought the home from a trust linked to billionaire Nick Molnar, the co-founder of the tech company Afterpay. Mansion Global reported that Molnar’s trust had acquired the property from Matthew Perry in 2021 for $21.6 million. Perry, who passed away in October at the age of 54, initially purchased the condo for $20 million in 2017.
