A house featured in The Block’s 2023 series is set to go under the hammer with a reserve price of just $1, sparking interest among potential buyers.
The luxurious five-bedroom, four-bathroom family home, located at 22 Charming Street, Hampton East, was built by contestants Eliza and Liberty on one of the largest blocks of approximately 632sqm. The house, known for its breathtaking mid-century transformation, was highly regarded by fans of the popular television show.
The seller, Adrian Portelli, is a successful entrepreneur best known for founding LMCT+, an online rewards club and shopping tool. Portelli made headlines last year when he purchased three of the five homes at The Block auction day.
Ray White Sunbury principals Aaron Hill and Marin Durkovic have been appointed to auction the house on Sunday, April 21. Portelli set the reserve price at $1, meaning that the highest bidder on the day will become the new owner of the stunning property.
“Adrian raffled his houses and the winners of this raffle chose to take the $2 million cash instead of the house, which is why we have been appointed to auction this stunning home,” Aaron Hill explained.
Since the launch of the auction campaign last week, the property has attracted significant interest, with over 400 groups attending viewings. Marin Durkovic noted that while the majority of buyers are local, there has also been some investor interest.
“There are also a few people looking for a bargain; anyone can be the winning bidder!” Durkovic said.
The auction of this famous house from The Block, with its unique $1 reserve price, is expected to draw a large crowd of potential buyers eager to secure a luxurious property at a potentially unprecedented price.
