Leading Queensland residential developer KDL Property Group has launched its sixth housing project in the Logan region with the unveiling of Aldeia, a $42 million, 118-lot housing estate located at 675 Logan Reserve Road, Logan Reserve. Construction on the 9.2ha estate is scheduled to commence shortly.

KDL Managing Director, Kent Leicester, said the launch of Aldeia follows the success of the neighbouring KDL project Rosebank, where all 272 housing lots set among beautiful community parkland adjacent to the Logan River at Logan Reserve have already sold out.

“Aldeia is the latest offering from KDL, which has a strong presence in Logan, and we are anticipating serious demand for the lots, which will range from 417 sqm to 712 sqm,” Leicester said. “This new estate balances modern living with rural simplicity and is close to essential services, schools and shopping centres, with public transport and major arterial roads providing easy access to Logan Central and the Brisbane CBD.”

The Aldeia site is also beside a proposed new state government secondary school, with the land recently acquired by the government. Leicester noted that having this future school nearby will be a plus for the Aldeia community.

KDL’s developments in the Logan region also include Montana at Logan Reserve, Sierra and Nevada in Park Ridge, Waterford Heights at Waterford West, and Elridge at Jimboomba. The Group is also highly active on Brisbane’s northside and is on track to deliver more than 1,100 new home sites in the Greater Brisbane area in the next three years.

“We’re delivering much needed housing supply to Moreton Bay with three new estates in Burpengary East, Joyner and Waraba to be completed over the next few years, delivering land for more than 800 new homes,” Leicester said. “Our ongoing development projects in the Logan area will provide an additional 211 homes which will help create a positive impact in the current housing climate. This is alongside our Elridge estate in Jimboomba which has 157 lots.”

Analysis from demographic and urban planning experts Informed Decision (Id) found that a massive 86,000 more homes will be needed across Greater Brisbane over the next six years to house the region’s population boom, with the biggest demand coming from a 20km wide ring located 20km to 40km from the Brisbane CBD, where the population is expected to boom by 127,000 people by 2029. This is an area where KDL has the bulk of its development projects.
