The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) has announced the winners of the National Awards for Excellence (NAFE) for 2024 at the historic ANZ REIA 100 Gala, recognising 25 exceptional individuals and agencies who have excelled in the real estate industry.

REIA President Leanne Pilkington emphasised the rigorous selection process, stating, “Each winner was carefully selected through an independently audited and peer reviewed process from the pool of 2023 winners of State and Territory Real Estate Institute’s Awards for Excellence (AFEs) as well as the Australasian Auctioneering Championship (AUSTROS) held in Hobart from 15 – 16 May 2024.”

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious REIA Presidents Award to former REIA President Adrian Kelly, in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to the real estate industry, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Adrian’s exceptional leadership and contributions to the real estate industry were deservedly honoured at the ceremony, highlighting his enduring impact and influence on the sector in leading the industry over the COVID-19 pandemic,” Ms Pilkington said.

The NAFE 2024 featured an impressive range of categories, covering various aspects of the real estate sector, including two inaugural sustainability awards and a strong showing from the Tasmanian hosts.

Notable winners included Louella Jury of Homelands Property in Tasmania, who received the Community Service Award; Renee Maynard from Peter Lees Real Estate, who was honoured with the Individual Sustainability Leadership Award; and Harcourts Huon Valley in Tasmania, which clinched the Innovation Award.

For the first time, the AUSTROS was integrated into the REIA NAFEs, with Luke Banitsiotis being named the AUSTROS Champion for 2024. “I would like to congratulate Luke Banitsiotis for taking out the 2024 AUSTROS. It was a hotly contested and an incredible few days of auctioneering,” Ms Pilkington said.
