The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has announced changes to its board, with non-member director Eddie Chung retiring and Kerri-Ann Smee stepping into the role.
REIQ Board Chairman Peter Brewer praised Chung’s long-standing contribution to the organisation, highlighting his financial expertise and guidance during critical periods.
“We are deeply grateful to Eddie for his invaluable guidance and financial expertise, which proved pivotal during critical junctures in the REIQ’s history,” Brewer said.
Chung played a key role in ensuring the REIQ’s profitability and developing sustainable revenue streams. His efforts have helped establish a strong financial foundation for the organisation’s future.
Brewer warmly welcomed incoming director Kerri-Ann Smee, a Business Services Partner from BDO in Brisbane. Smee brings over 20 years of experience as a taxation and business advisory specialist, with particular expertise in the real estate and construction industry.
“Kerri-Ann has stepped into this role seamlessly and I’m confident she will uphold Eddie’s legacy while making her own mark,” Brewer said.
He expressed confidence that Smee’s extensive experience and industry knowledge will contribute significantly to the REIQ’s continued success and growth.
Smee officially commenced her role on the REIQ Board in July 2024.
The board changes come as the REIQ continues to navigate the evolving real estate landscape in Queensland, with a focus on maintaining strong financial performance and providing value to its members.
