Identitywa, a Western Australian disability support provider, has announced a partnership with Jarra Property to develop 16 high-quality specialist homes in Perth.
The collaboration aims to increase the availability of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) for people with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding.
Marina Re, CEO of Identitywa, said: “Working with partners who are equally focused on delivering quality products helps us deliver on our purpose to support people with disability to live the life they choose.”
The planned houses will be single-story, three-bedroom homes with accessible ensuites, designed in accordance with SDA Design Standards. Additional features include:
- Accessible kitchens tailored to occupants’ needs
- Incorporation of assistive technologies
- Proximity to amenities, public transport, and family support
- Designs facilitating quality care
Mike Cameron, Managing Director of Jarra Property, highlighted the project’s appeal to investors, stating: “Investors are increasingly seeking strong investments that also make a social impact and this project ticks all the boxes.”
Cameron added that Perth’s residential property market has seen double-digit price growth over the past year, presenting a strong foundation for investors.
The houses will be leased to Identitywa under a 10-year agreement, with options for two additional 5-year terms.
Re emphasised the critical need for such projects, saying: “There is increasing demand for quality housing solutions and we want to ensure the supply meets the unique needs of these participants and their families.”
Jarra Property has launched a fund to raise capital for the project, with sophisticated investors invited to participate.
The partnership aims to address the growing demand for specialized housing while providing a socially impactful investment opportunity in Perth’s robust property market.
