A leading real estate agent has broken the non-waterfront house price record for Cronulla’s 2230 postcode twice in less than five months.
Mitchell Wynn of Highland Property Group sold ‘Casa Palma’ at 19 John Street, Cronulla for $6.7 million in an off-market deal, surpassing his previous record of $6.5 million set earlier this year for a home on Trevalsa Place.
The Mediterranean-inspired four-bedroom house was on the market for just one week before Wynn found a buyer through the agency’s database in four days.
“This home is truly something unique, that was evident from my first walk-through,” Wynn said.
He noted the property’s Cycladic architecture, more commonly found in Santorini, was a key selling point.
“From that first visit I noticed the quality of detail and Mediterranean-inspired touches and instantly knew that I wanted to be the one who found a deserving buyer,” he said.
The home, designed by Its Built Design, Avenue Studios and Lowi Interiors, features rendered white exteriors, micro cement floors and walls, and a Control 4 Home Automation system.
A standout feature is the cabana and entertaining area, complete with a Beefeater Signature Proline BBQ, pool, and two 80-year-old olive trees.
Wynn attributed the quick sale to the property’s unique design and Highland’s database of luxury property seekers.
“I have a number of clients that are always on the lookout for unique opportunities in the Sutherland Shire, allowing them to live a luxury lifestyle right here in the South of Sydney without having to uproot their lives and try for something in the East,” he explained.
This sale follows other notable transactions by Wynn and Highland COO Laura McKay, including a $13 million Cronulla penthouse and a $20 million waterfront property in Burraneer.
Wynn said these sales indicate active buyers in the higher end of the market and demonstrate the appeal of high-quality design in the Sutherland Shire.
The record-breaking ‘Casa Palma’ was previously available for hire for photoshoots, commercials, and corporate events.
