International property developer Arada has announced its expansion into the Australian market, establishing a head office in Sydney’s Pyrmont and planning multiple projects in New South Wales.

The UAE-based company aims to contribute to urban renewal and address Sydney’s housing supply challenges through its developments.

Arada’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Australian-born Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, will spearhead the company’s Australian operations and business growth.

“Launching in Australia marks a pivotal moment for Arada as we continue to realise our vision of integrated residential communities that help people lead happier, healthier and more meaningful lives,” Mr Alkhoshaibi said.

Arada has a track record of delivering 9,000 homes globally, with another 21,000 in the pipeline. The company currently oversees a project portfolio valued at $24 billion.

In Australia, Arada plans to develop $2.5 billion worth of projects, which will add 2,500 homes to the Sydney housing market. The developments are located within the Inner West, South West and Hills Shire suburbs.

Mr Alkhoshaibi said the company’s initial projects in Sydney are strategically located within growth corridors, aligning with NSW Government initiatives to expand housing near transport hubs.

“Our initial projects in Sydney are strategically located within growth corridors, aligning with NSW Government initiatives to expand housing near transport hubs and minimising strain on existing infrastructure,” he said.

The developments will feature premium amenities including green spaces, retail outlets and Arada’s own fitness and wellbeing offering, Wellfit.

Arada has partnered with architecture practice Woods Bagot to design and deliver its vision to the Australian market.

The company said it is committed to working with local and state authorities to provide solutions to lessen pressure on first home buyers through its integrated residential community model.

Construction and sales for Arada’s Australian projects are scheduled to commence in 2025.
