International consultancy firm AESG has announced the opening of a new office in Sydney, marking its entry into the Australian market.
The Sydney office will serve as the headquarters for AESG’s Australasian operations, working closely with the company’s Singapore hub to enhance services across the Asia Pacific region.
AESG CEO Saeed Al Abbar said the expansion aligns with Australia’s sustainability goals for 2025.
“We are proud to introduce our world-class service portfolio to Australia,” Al Abbar said.
“The country’s strong sustainability and decarbonisation agenda for 2025 aligns perfectly with our mission to drive the net-zero and sustainability goals across various sectors.”
The company plans to focus initially on environment, sustainability and specialist engineering services in Australia.
These include environmentally sustainable design, facade engineering, fire and life safety, ESG advisory, and carbon and net zero consultancy.
AESG has appointed Devan Valenti as Director of Sustainability for its Australian operations.
Valenti, who helped develop the Green Star Buildings Rating system used by Australian property developers, said he aims to blend international best practices with local insights.
“Australia’s dedication to sustainable development presents a unique and compelling landscape,” Valenti said.
“Our goal is to blend international best practices with local insights to drive impactful, sustainable solutions.”
The Sydney office expands AESG’s global network, which includes locations in London, Dubai, Singapore, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
The company said it hopes to tap into top local talent while also bringing international expertise to the Australian market.
AESG plans to help prepare Australian clients for upcoming sustainability reporting requirements taking effect from fiscal year 2025.
The firm estimates nearly 2,000 organisations will need to report on their climate impacts and risks under the new standards.
