The Property Council of Australia has announced the winners of its 2024 Rider Levett Bucknall State/Territory Development of the Year awards, recognizing outstanding innovations in the country’s property industry.
Property Council Chief Executive Mike Zorbas highlighted the significance of the winning projects.
“These awards throw a dazzling spotlight on the role community-defining projects play in shaping vibrant, sustainable and forward-looking cities,” Zorbas said.
The winners, now contenders for the Australian Development of the Year at the upcoming National Innovation & Excellence Awards, include:
- New South Wales: Quay Quarter Tower, described as a “world-first vertical village” redefining the future of work.
- Victoria: The Victorian Heart Hospital, Australia’s first state-of-the-art specialist cardiac hospital.
- Queensland: Chermside Affordable Housing complex, an innovative project by The Salvation Army.
- Western Australia: ONE Subiaco, a precinct-rejuvenating mixed-use development.
- South Australia: 83 Pirie, integrating hospitality, wellness and commercial functions under the ‘WORKLIFE’ concept.
- ACT: 6 Brindabella Circuit at Brindabella Business Park, a sustainability-focused mixed-use development.
- Tasmania: Iron Creek Bay Farm Stay, a new type of short-stay accommodation.
Peter Tulla, RLB Global Board Chair, emphasized the broader impact of these developments.
“These projects do more than just transform physical spaces—they create places of true and enduring value,” Tulla said.
The National Innovation & Excellence Awards, now in its 42nd year, will announce the overall Australian Development of the Year at a gala event in Sydney this September.
