Leading real estate agent Ric Serrao of Raine & Horne Double Bay/Bondi Beach expects prime properties in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs to attract both local and international buyers this spring.
Serrao, who consistently ranks among Australia’s top agents, has listed an architectural masterpiece at 76 Hastings Parade, North Bondi. He anticipates strong interest from Australian expats, foreign buyers, and local purchasers.
Despite predictions of oversupply, Serrao sees a window of opportunity for savvy buyers as prices stabilise.
“Prices have eased by 5-10% from their peak of a few months ago, and with fixed-rate mortgages stabilising and potential cuts to variable rates on the horizon, I expect the market to rebound swiftly once a rate cut is announced,” Serrao said.
He believes top-tier properties like 76 Hastings Parade will continue to perform well, noting a significant lift in the rental market after a winter slowdown.
Serrao predicts increased demand for lifestyle-oriented areas as spring progresses, particularly in the 2026 postcode covering Bondi, North Bondi, Queens Park, Centennial Park, and Paddington.
The North Bondi property, designed by architect Andrew Burges, features five bedrooms on a 474 sqm north-facing block, with distinctive Danish bricks and seamless indoor-outdoor living areas.
Serrao acknowledged the impact of interest rates on market activity, especially for lower-priced properties. However, he expects a surge in activity once inflation is under control and rates are cut.
“We’re starting to see some early signs of bargain hunters coming out of the woodwork for the first time in 12-18 months, sensing better buying opportunities,” he said.
The property at 76 Hastings Parade, North Bondi is set to go to auction, with inspection details available through Raine & Horne Double Bay/Bondi Beach.
