Salta, a leading property development and asset management group, has officially opened Fitzroy & Co, its first build-to-rent (BTR) project under its dedicated Est. platform.

The boutique development, located in Melbourne’s sought-after Fitzroy North suburb, was unveiled by the Premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allan, and Minister for Planning, Sonya Killkenny.

Salta Managing Director Sam Tarascio said the project aims to elevate the rental experience.

“We saw an opportunity to elevate the rental experience with high-quality, highly contextual, apartment designs and curated services that reflect the lifestyle experiences many renters are seeking,” Tarascio said.

Fitzroy & Co features 94 apartments across 14 levels, offering one-, two- and three-bedroom options. The development includes over 1,000 square metres of shared communal spaces and amenities.

Key features of the project include:

  • A co-working space and private meeting room
  • A gym and separate yoga studio
  • A resident sky lounge with a cinema room and dining area
  • A rooftop pet park and pet spa
  • A 376sqm mural by First Nations artist Lisa Waup

Tarascio highlighted the strong interest in the project, with over 2,100 enquiries recorded since July and more than 145 tours booked.

“We’re seeing a mix of singles and couples attracted to the ‘set up and go’ nature of the building. A few couples have transferred from interstate looking for well-appointed apartments in desirable locations,” he said.

The development is part of Salta’s broader commitment to the BTR market. The company plans to deliver 4,000 apartments within its $3 billion Est platform across Melbourne.

Rental opportunities at Fitzroy & Co start from $650 per week.
