Ingham real estate agent Felix Reitano has been named a Life Member of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) after three decades of service to the industry.
The appointment was confirmed by REIQ members at their Annual General Meeting.
REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella praised Reitano’s contribution to the profession.
“Felix has been a great supporter of the REIQ and our advocacy efforts over the years and it’s wonderful to acknowledge his contribution and firm commitment to the REIQ family,” Mercorella said.
Reitano, 77, has led his family’s business Felix Reitano Furniture & Real Estate for more than 45 years.
The business celebrated its centenary in 2023.
Accepting the award at REIQ headquarters, Reitano dedicated it to his predecessors.
“I dedicate this award to my grandfather and my father who were faced with much greater challenges, yet still accomplished so much and established a business with exceptional standards and service,” Reitano said.
He became a licensed real estate agent in 1992 and was named an REIQ Fellow in 2017.
Reitano has served as an auctioneer for nearly 42 years.
His community service includes roles with the Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce and the Army Reserve.
Earlier this year, Reitano was named Hinchinbrook Shire’s Citizen of the Year.
