The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has elected Daniel Burrett from Toowoomba and Nadine Edwards from Cairns as new directors following today’s Annual General Meeting.

REIQ Chairman Peter Brewer praised the high calibre of candidates.

“Daniel and Nadine are both highly ambitious and accomplished regional community leaders… and possess business acumen, sound strategic thinking, and a steadfast commitment to professional standards,” Brewer said.

The appointments maintain the organisation’s commitment to diverse representation.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella highlighted the board’s inclusive structure.

“Our Constitution has preserved positions for regional directors, female directors and an under 35-year-old director, as well as non-member directors who possess complementary specific skills and knowledge,” Mercorella said.

Burrett pledged to focus on digital communication and professional development.

Edwards expressed gratitude for her appointment.

“I’m grateful to those of you that supported and endorsed my nomination, I consider this position as an honour and a privilege,” Edwards said.

The new directors replace outgoing board members Josh Kindred and Linda Bland.

Katie Knight has been appointed as the new Zone Chair for Toowoomba, replacing Burrett.

Knight previously held the position before stepping down for maternity leave in 2021.

The appointments are for three-year terms.
