Short-term rental hosts face mounting pressure to maintain standards during the peak holiday season as they juggle back-to-back bookings and quick turnarounds.
Property managers are urging hosts to establish efficient systems for handling same-day changeovers amid the surge in summer holiday bookings.
“Managing back-to-back bookings while maintaining the high standards guests expect can be a challenge,” BnB Butler CEO Charlotte Brett said.
Brett suggested hosts need to remain flexible to capture last-minute holiday bookings while ensuring properties meet guest expectations.
She highlighted the importance of outdoor spaces during summer, recommending hosts pay special attention to these areas.
The holiday period poses additional challenges with cleaning staff and other service providers often taking leave.
“With many people away for Christmas and new year, consider collaborating with property management experts to ensure smooth operations during the holidays,” Brett said.
Property managers recommend adding thoughtful touches such as festive decorations and local event recommendations to enhance guest experiences.
