The merger, effective January 1, 2025, will strengthen the firm’s capabilities in property, conveyancing, corporate and commercial law services in the Brisbane region.
Stipe Vuleta, Managing Director of Chamberlains Law Firm, said the expansion represented an important development for the company.
“The opening of our Brisbane office marks a new beginning for Chamberlains. We welcome our new team members from Handz Law to the Chambos family, who bring on a wealth of experience in Property, Conveyancing, Litigation, Corporate & Commercial Law,” he said.
The Brisbane office will be led by directors Calvin Young and Sieng Kong, alongside special counsel Domenic Gallo and conveyancer and paralegal Candice Wang.
The merger aims to expand Chamberlains’ service offerings across property acquisitions, commercial transactions, cross-border transactions, corporate advisory, joint ventures and corporate litigation.
The firm has highlighted its focus on servicing East Asian markets through the new Brisbane office, with team members who are fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
The new office will operate as a hub for the firm’s East Asian practice, offering guidance on cross-border legal matters for both Australian businesses expanding into Asia and international clients seeking opportunities in Australia.
