Sydney buyers flock to luxury Gold Coast development

Sydney buyers are making a significant impact on the early sales of a new luxury apartment development in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The $150 million residential tower, Arden, which stands at 33 storeys, has already seen 20 per cent of its residences sold within just a few weeks of hitting the market. The five sales, which total $20 million, have all been attributed to buyers from Sydney.

Located at 152 Surf Parade, Arden offers a total of 25 residences, with prices starting from $4 million. The building features 22 full-floor residences, each spanning more than 250 square metres, alongside two expansive dual-level sub-penthouses priced at $11.5 million each, and a signature dual-level penthouse covering 520 square metres.

The interest from Sydney buyers has been notably strong, with purchasers hailing from various parts of the city, including the lower north shore, Sutherland Shire, the eastern suburbs, and the northern beaches. Many of these buyers are acquiring these properties as second or third homes, intending to split their time between Sydney and the Gold Coast.

David Highland, CEO of Highland Property, which is marketing the project, commented on the robust demand from Sydney. “Demand from Sydney buyers has been particularly strong, with many looking for a residence that combines the lifestyle of the Gold Coast with the level of quality and scale they’re accustomed to in premium Sydney developments,” he said. He further noted, “To see 20 per cent of the project secured within the first week of launch demonstrates both the scarcity of full-floor residences in this part of Broadbeach and the strength of buyer confidence in the team behind Arden.”

The project is being developed by NBFI Invest in collaboration with Paynter Dixon. Peter Wright, Executive Chairman of NBFI, highlighted the significance of this early sales activity. “Broadbeach continues to evolve as one of Australia’s premier beachfront destinations, and Arden has been carefully designed to meet the expectations of buyers seeking privacy, scale and sophistication,” Mr Wright stated. He added, “The early response to the project has been extremely encouraging and reinforces our confidence in the strength of the luxury residential market on the Gold Coast.”

The design of Arden’s residences reflects a commitment to luxury and comfort, with each full-floor apartment emphasizing open-plan living and the maximisation of natural light. Generous floor plans start at 251 square metres, offering both park and water views. The sub-penthouses, spanning approximately 500 square metres, provide even more space for potential buyers seeking expansive living quarters.

Arden’s prime location offers more than just luxury living spaces; it is situated within walking distance of the coastline and the bustling dining, retail, and entertainment precincts of Broadbeach. This proximity to amenities and the beach is a significant drawcard for buyers looking to enjoy the best of both worlds: a serene residential environment with easy access to vibrant city life.

The Gold Coast has long been a favoured destination for those seeking a blend of relaxation and luxury, and developments like Arden are catering to a growing demand for high-end properties in the area. As Sydney buyers continue to invest in these premium developments, the trend underscores the appeal of the Gold Coast not just as a holiday destination, but as a viable location for luxury living.

As the project progresses, developers and marketers remain optimistic about the continued interest from both local and interstate buyers. With its strategic location and thoughtfully designed residences, Arden is poised to become a landmark in Broadbeach’s luxury property market.
