Wavie: The ‘Uber-style’ real estate platform empowering homeowners to sell without agent fees

Wavie, a new real estate platform, has launched in Australia, promising to revolutionise the property sales sector by enabling homeowners to sell their properties without paying high real estate agency fees.

Founded by industry leaders Andy Dunn, a property expert, and Josh Luschwitz, a respected third-generation real estate agent based in Sydney, Wavie provides users with tools and support to manage their property sales independently.

“Wavie is a user-friendly platform that enables homeowners to sell their property using our easy and convenient tools, support and assistance,” said Dunn, who described the platform as “UBER for real estate” and encouraged users to “WAVE goodbye to agents’ fees.”

The platform assists users throughout the selling process, from handling inquiries to guiding them through open homes, negotiations, and offer management.

Wavie’s AI technology addresses 90 percent of buyer questions, with additional support provided by the Wavie team and direct input from the property owner when necessary.

Dunn explained that Wavie was born from firsthand experiences and mutual dissatisfaction with the outdated practices and substantial fees associated with traditional property sales.

“We saw a glaring need for a platform that places property owners at the helm of their transactions, providing them with unparalleled control, absolute transparency, and substantial savings in their property-selling journey,” he said.

Wavie offers a straightforward package for homeowners priced at $6,495, covering essential services such as conveyancing, building and pest reports, media enhancements, a desktop valuation, and listings on national selling sites.

Optional add-ons include professional photography and tours, valuations, targeted social media marketing, and direct access to a licensed real estate agent.

Homeowners benefit from flexible payment options, with nothing due upfront and payments settled at closing or within 180 days of listing.

Wavie can also facilitate access to funds for minor renovations or staging to enhance a property’s appeal.

“As the homeowner, you know your property better than anyone else. You also understand the value of time and money and therefore should have the ability to make choices around where you spend your money when selling your property,” Dunn said.

He emphasised that if homeowners have the time to undertake sales activities themselves and access to a platform that provides all the necessary tools and assistance, they can save tens of thousands of dollars while achieving the same outcome as using a real estate agent.

Dunn believes that in the current market, property owners need a cost-effective way of selling their property, and Wavie meets this need.

“The market will always need full service real estate agents, but it is also time for an uberised real estate selling service that empowers property owners to do some of the work themselves,” he concluded.
